Ambassador- Mr.Niluka Kadurugamuwa from 13.09.2025

Ambassador  Niluka Kadurugamuwa is a career Foreign Service officer, He joined the Sri Lanka Foreign Service in 2003, and has served in Sri Lanka Missions in Rome, Bangkok, New York and New Delhi. He has held several positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka as well. Prior to being appointed the Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Republic of Türkiye, he was the Director General of the South Asia & SAARC and Public Diplomacy Divisions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of Sri Lanka.

He graduated with a First Class Honours from the University of Kelaniya in Sri Lanka, and holds a Master’s Degree in Linguistics from the same university and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Colombo. He speaks Sinhala, English and Hindi fluently and has an elementary knowledge of Italian. 

An accomplished translator, Niluka Kadurugamuwa has translated several prominent literary works from English to Sinhala. He won the Sri Lanka State Literary Award for the best translation of a novel, in 2018, 2019 and 2022.
