Welcome to the official website of the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Ankara, Türkiye, concurrently accredited to Georgia and Ukraine
Sri Lanka and Türkiye established diplomatic relations in 1948, soon after Sri Lanka's independence, with Türkiye being one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with independent Sri Lanka (then Ceylon). Sri Lanka set up its resident Mission in Ankara in 2012. The two countries enjoy historical and longstanding close relations. These strong ties, coupled with Türkiye’s strategic geographical location and that of Sri Lanka provide a wide range of opportunities for bilateral cooperation inter alia in the political, economic, cultural and science & technology sectors. Right throughout, Türkiye has consistently supported Sri Lanka bilaterally as well as in multilateral and international fora. The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Türkiye is also concurrently accredited to Georgia and Ukraine.
